Think Before You Speak
Did they not see the signs,
did they not see her pain.
They ignored her cries for help,
her desperate screams of pain,
the many tears that had fallen,
along with her crimson rain.
Did they not see the scars,
torn and jagged on her skin,
or the pain in her eyes,
every single day.
Though you thought it was funny to tell her she is worthless,
or she’ll never be loved,
and laughed when she cried.
Now that she is dead,
will you see the error of your ways,
understand that your words have killed,
know that this girl will never see the light of day,
take this as a lesson,
and remember what you did.
