The Library
It’s a maze
A librarian’s desk sits idly in the corner
Pushing her wire rimmed glasses further up her nose,
She answers questions with an air of confidence
But the building is dead silent
Two people sit together
Worlds away,
Unaware that the other shares the sinful attraction
One sniffs, flips the page
“Gimmie that!”
A girl in the Youth Services stretches out her arm
The boy sitting adjacent snickers
The girl gives up and sits back, tossing her blonde hair
The college student is huddled in a far off corner,
Her nose is buried in a massive reference book
Though finals waited, the words blurred
She drifted off
The lady wonders
When the old man will leave the computer
She needs to use it to look for a job
But she doesn’t know that he needs one too
A cart with a squeaky wheel gets a boys attention
He smiles at the pretty assistant
And resumes his assigned reading
He’s failing class quite badly
Yes
It’s quite the maze
