From One World To The Next
Lights twinkling in the night sky
I used to wonder at them
But now sigh
As their true nature science
Revealed
And veil of happy fantasies
Peeled
Off and thrown; ridiculed
By my very (now) mature
And rational attitude
In the private room of my mind
Where my memories I do bind
Lie shattered pieces
Of childhood dreams
Along with an innocent world
Of happiness
To make room for reality
Facts, numbers and sanity
Though this new perspective
Has a beauty of its own
I miss the places
My childhood had shown
At the end of the day
There is only one lesson learnt
They say-
“Around every corner change lurks
Sorry, but that’s how life works
It’s not long before you realize
From your safe nest
That you’re spiraling
From one world to the next.”
