“She seems so cool, so focused, so quiet, yet her eyes remain fixed upon the horizon. You think you know all there is to know about her immediately upon meeting her, but everything you think you know is wrong. Passion flows through her like a river."

The days I'll remember best
from this infinite summer
are the days when I wait in golden parking lots
or walk down frozen hallways
just to catch a glimpse of you,
just to hold your gaze for two seconds.
Sometimes I'd see you
laughing with the jester
and I would think how close I was to you
but still so far away.
I'd think how easy it would be
for me to approach you then--
after all
the jester and I,
we're very close.
But I'm too shy
and I'm too quiet
and it's not my nature.
No, I'll leave the introductions to you.
And next time I catch your eyes,
maybe you'll get my silent, secret message--
maybe you'll know.
I just want you to know
this is a first for me.
This is the first time I've looked at someone like you
and completely lost myself,
and maybe we're wrong for each other,
maybe you'll never get my message,
maybe this is all for nothing.
Maybe the jester is just too deceiving.
But for now,
during this infinite summer
I have this.
I can wait in golden parking lots
and walk down frozen hallways
and hope that this will one day be our palace.

This poem is basically one big metaphor for me having a giant crush on someone...
