Checkmate
The razor is so cold but the red warmth counteracts the chill
Tears stream, blood gleams, feelings run airy
The swift movement across my wrist is engraved in my head just like my arm
I know it’s been said before; this isn’t my life to take
But why wait, give in and give up
Don’t live for yesterday
Like a game of chess
One more move and its checkmate
End it quick but make it slow
Feel the pain deep and low
A small pool of blood forms around my feet
Deeper, darker, thicker than before
This is it; my last move
Close my eyes, lights go out, voices fade
Watch me go, take me away
This is it my last checkmate.
