As Days Go By
As days go by
We no longer think of our future
We look at the sky
And see the bitter sweetness of our past
We see ourselves as children
Playing with nature
Gathering friends and family
Going on long road trips
And letting things fly
As days go by
We think back to school
The days we spent with friends
The times we spent being immature
Making trouble and only trouble
Thinking back to high school
Going to dances
Being in love for the first time
Getting your first kiss
Going to your first prom
Finally smiling from cheek to cheek
When you think of the first time you grabbed your diploma
When you knew you were no longer a child
But now a grown up
No longer planning and thinking of your future
Because you now are in your future
Making memories
Making decisions
Making new friends
Loving life
Living life to your fullest
Because you only live once
You can only the make the best of it
As days go by...
