Who I Am
I am french vanilla coffee in the morning
and butter on wheat toast
I am cheap perfume and expensive eyeliner
and the fallout from powder eyeshadow
caked in random pillow creases
between beads of sweat
I am green tea in the afternoon
dog eared books, unfinished movies
and burnt out ashes in the fireplace
the last of the smoke searching
for an escape
I am earl grey in the evening
and hushed phone calls in the darkness
thousands of miles apart
I am midnight alertness
and glitter-tin stars
tossed about a velvet sky
and the souls below
gazing into the celestial abyss
waiting
I am here
and I am
fine
