The only thing going by is the lines on the road

And time
We look at eachother for a mere moment or two, a discreet smile plays on my lips for a moment or two before it slips into a deep frown when he doesn’t return the gesture.
He looks out the driver’s side window and lights a Marlboro 27.
I cough when I inhale the smoke.
He throws his gaze lazily over me,
“I wish I could be sorry."
