Broken
Sad smile, a cruel art.
Small girl with a broken heart.
No one sees, no one knows.
Why she hides these aching blows.
Why did you ignore?
Did you try to help?
You know how alone she felt.
You knew she was crying, lonely at night.
You could have tried to make this right.
She is lost in the crowd, hidden by covered smiles.
She would walk so tall, her pretend style,
But she knows she’s broken.
She covers it all up so well,
With faded dreams and off white lies.
She walks away, forgets the pain, tears sting but she won’t cry.
She is lost in the crowd, hidden by covered smiles.
She would walk so tall, her pretend style.
But she knows she’s broken
Inside, outside, not a crack.
