Safe and Fragile
If you could see my collar bones, would you love me?
How about if you could caress my body, and feel my osseous hips jutting out
What if you could hold me, and claim that I was fragile
And that you needed to protect me from my own breaking bones
Would you love me then, when there will be little to hold onto
I’m willing to crumple myself to fit inside your tender embrace
Will you keep me, once I become flimsy
You can cradle me and keep me safe
Could you care for me, once I’ve become paled
When I drain the color from my face, in efforts to be with you
I’m choosing to crush my lungs
and to become torn apart
I need to be fragile, for you.
