Seaside
I can’t write poems about the sea
And for that matter,
I can’t write poems about really anything
But I can describe its beauty
How it seems endless
How it’s all around me
I can tell you about the colors
The colors you see in the winters
And the colors you see in the summers
Green and blue
The color of the waves
Or drops of morning dew
Purple and pink
Like the sun as it creeps
Or iced, smoothie drinks
I can tell you about the gloomy skies,
The fire-spotted nights,
And the beautiful sunrise
I can tell you about the crashing waves,
The sunlight rays,
And the water’s haze
I could tell to you
All of this
And much more too
But the then it won’t be quite as a surprise
When you come for yourself,
To the Seaside
