Sounds of Humanity
Sitting underneath the pines, needles gently dropped from the branches above. I watched as the fingers of the sunrise stained the dark sky a pale gray. Whippoorwills called from the distant shore of the lake, waking up to the cool morning. Suddenly, a dog shattered the early morning silence and bayed into the growing sunlight. Then, the world awoke; alarm clocks blared from nearby houses, and the sound of car motors filled the air, turning the nature’s gentle noises into the sound of humanity.
