To You
There’s this girl I know,
She dwelled too much in her insecurities.
She shrunk until she made herself invisible
and all she wanted was to be big again.
ALL IT TOOK WAS A SMILE
but she couldn’t find one anywhere,
so she stole a fake one.
It didn’t work, until the lights turned on
and she saw herself in a new light (literally)
and no one could’ve stolen the smile she had glued to her heart.
From this, she radiated her smile to others
because nobody else should feel the way she did.
She said, “knowing that one more person is happy now is all I need to keep me going.”
