What I've Sought
Listen to the silence
Of my thoughts
And don’t forget a word;
Dreams come in small
Packages,
At least that’s what I’ve heard.
You’re far away and out of reach,
Unlikely to be met.
You’re just a dream
Not yet seen
But I won’t give up yet.
You take my pride away from me,
Without a single sound.
I’ll have you know I’m not afraid,
My feet will stand their ground.
I’ve been watching
The wind blow
Through the blinds.
How can something
So invisible
Seep into our minds?
The jagged rocks
Of Earth’s decay
Proves love prevails.
Watch for my boat,
It’ll come this way,
Yet it forgot how to sail.
You take my pride away from me,
Without a single sound.
I’ll have you know I’m not afraid,
My feet will stand their ground.
Oblivious to
What’s in front of me;
I haven’t got a clue.
But one things for sure
I’ll be rescued
From this sea
Once I’ve found you.
My palm outstretched
For lonely hands,
Yet no one seems to hold.
I’ve tried and tried
Without avail;
My heart will not unfold.
For now I’m lost
Drowned in waves,
Unlikely to be found.
Someone has ripped
My ship in half;
My wrists are tightly bound.
The petals slip
Off the rose’s stem,
Drifting to the floor.
I’ve been watching love
From miles away
And my ship
Never did
Reach shore.
