Pretty 101
I hope you know,
I really hope you know,
What you're doing to me
When you don't even think I notice
One glance,
You give me one glance--
And it's too much
And my knees are weak
And my heart is beating
And my mind goes wild
But on the outside
I twirl my hair on my finger
And pop a hip
Like the pretty girl they taught me to be at school
I walk by you
So slowly--
So you can see me cross my arms
And bat my lashes
And pretend I don't care
When really I'm just trying not to stare
I hope you know
What you've made me into
Always on my mind,
You're always on my mind
And even though you look at me that way
Even though I can feel you staring at me
I don't think I'm on yours
Until I'm there
Until you can see what they taught me to be at school
Twirling my hair
Popping my hip
Crossing my arms
Averting my eyes
I pass the test every time
