Losing Distance
Distance paralyzes
not just people,
but time, progress.
I thought it would help,
to be away from you.
I thought it would help
me grow apart from you,
emotion mimicking action.
But everything defies me,
and so my thoughts
never stray far from you,
never for long.
You have such a hold
on my damaged heart,
as if you broke it
just to put it back together,
or at least try to.
I could pretend that I
don't want you anymore
(like I shouldn't)
but I do. So much.
I would let you break me
a million times more
if just for once
you could manage
to fix me afterwards.
Just put me out of
this agony of separation
and let me love you,
because distance only
puts our love in reverse.
