Overdue
Like a book,
I will love
anyone who dares to
open me
and take the time
to
read my words,
and flip through
my pages.
And,
like a book,
sometimes
my readers are careless.
They leave me
water-damaged,
pages missing,
pen-marked,
spine bent.
But
I'll always have
the readers
who will fix me up,
tape my ripped
pages, write
in their own ones
and
keep me till I'm
overdue.
