Normal? What is normal? Normal a setting on a washing machine. No one wants to be that. ~Ashley Purdy

You were the first to
Save me
From the cold, dying
Isolation.
You treated me like a child - but not just any. You treated me like
Your
Child, your one and only.
For the first time, I felt safe and
Cared for.
I did all I could to
Help you.
But you changed. You treated me like a pawn in your
Game, was it?
Was my undying admiration just a game
To you?
It wasn't to me.
And looking back, I feel
Cold
Inside,
Remembering the days spent together.
And even though you stabbed my back
And I, yours,
I still think of you the same.
You have moved on and found a new child
To care for.
And I'm just
Left alone
Holding onto what's left of yesterday.
Trying.
Trying.
Praying.
Begging.
Pleading.
To forget.
Forget you, the way you
Protected
Me and
Taught me. Forget the way you
Blew the storm clouds
From my skies and made me feel
Alive
Again.
Trying.
Begging.
Pleading.
Go away.

The author's comments:
I was told in creative writing class to write a meaningful unsent letter to someone I knew, so I wrote mine to someone who had once treated me like a second father, but we ended up betraying each other, never to speak to each other again. I honestly wish I could talk to him again, but after I betrayed him, he isolated himself from the world - and I'm the one to blame for it.
