The Sad Songs
Sometimes you listen to a sad song
Volume turned up all the way
While you cry
You aren't even sure why tears mar your face
And the song has no words
Only notes
But these notes say more about you than words ever could
A sad violin weeps out a melancholy tune
A piano strikes low notes
Playing softly
A sad whisper
The deep cello echoes what you feel
Deep In your chest
And you weep as the sound crescendoes
Then the music recedes
Ending quickly
The outside world suddenly empty
Depraved of the bittersweet beauty of the song
But it plays on in your head
Each note being draw out
Alongside one of you tears
And they fall away together
Soul mates, in your sorrow
