A Crow in my Heart
There is a crow,
in my heart
that wants to get out.
It shrieks,
trapped under veins
and blood.
It’s wings,
scarred,
have ceased to soar.
It’s eyes,
mad,
like feathers in a coop.
It’s claws,
forged dull,
grasp nothing.
Each pulse
shrinks and buries
the damned beast,
hammering his
beak,
destroying
the miracle within.
There is a crow,
in my heart,
that wants to get out.
