It Is What It Is (I Am What I Am)
I fail.
I fail at everything.
I can't breathe,
I can't eat,
And I can't sleep.
I feel like an animal, trapped in a cage.
Roaring, Screaming, Crying, and Tearing loose.
There is no one to talk to,
No one to listen,
And no one to care.
I want to pull at the earth
And yell until my throat is sore, my heart stops, and my fingers bleed.
I'm alone,
But I'm surrounded.
I've won,
But I'm defeated.
I'm alive,
But I'm dying.
Falling apart and tumbling over
The invisible wall.
I'm sad, I'm anxious, I'm nervous, I'm scared.
But with everything remaining as it is...
I am myself.
I am no one else.
I cannot change who I am,
Only how I see the face in the mirror.
Welcome the changes, be not afraid,
of what the day has truly made.
Stand tall.
Life changes and shifts.
Never stagnant,
Only beautiful.
You cannot win at everything-
But you also can't fail.
