skeleton boy
suck in.
his ribs stick
out like piano
keys and
i could break
him in
half.
step on.
he has bags
under his eyes,
and i don't think
his frail frame
can carry them.
two bites.
his eyelashes
touched his cheeks
before they
started
falling out.
thirty squats.
i can curl
my fingers
around his wrist
with ease
and he
smiles.
skip lunch.
he is cold,
and i am too
but
my jacket will
always be his
in the end.
locked door.
i can hear him
retching
in the bathroom,
and i am not
allowed in.
