Seize the day...or don't
The day is new but I am old
the sunset no longer shocking
the bed empty and cold
the rearview mirror to crowded to see distinctly
The day is new but I am tired
eagerness leaves before the morning dew dissipates
yawns are my only responses
the waves slowly drift me away
The day is new but I am Lonely
I tell the waitress table for one
the mirror my only companion
my hands hang by my sides, none to grab for
The day is over but I am regretful
I have not done enough, no handprint no footprint
I have not made a difference, I need more time
I have not cherished the days, too busy complaining
