Walls
Your words, I hear them
They throw me towards the wall
I stumble, trip
And somehow break the fall
Your stare, it kills me
I slam against the brick
It cracks as I crumble
It leaves me feeling sick
Your laugh, it tortures
And I swear I’ve broken through
As I lay in the rubble
Wishing I was you
And darkness falls away
Light pouring through the crack
I shove it all away
Forgetting to look back
Freedom, it calls
Begging me to run
I step through the mess I made
And turn back where I’ve come
