On Anatomy
i tasted and touched
his blood flow where it
matters least
(to me)
in hopes that the red of his skin
would warm me as it
promised to
but the nerve ending of my lips
and fingertips can tell his from
yours
(the cells on my surface will dance
to anything and it takes no breeze to
send shivers skidding down
my back)
like my stomach acid can tell between a
throb and a punch
(i cannot blur the line between blood
and bone
no matter how i
spit and scrub)
