Leaves
Autumn has come.
I can tell by the way
The leaves have changed.
As the leaves fall,
So do I.
We met in the blaze of summer
And my love burned of
Reds, oranges, and yellows,
Like the leaves,
I fell.
"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"
No.
I shall compare thee to the chill of autumn
And the winds of whether I wrinkle
Like the sleeves of your sweater:
"I'm cold."
You know,
Halloween scares me now.
It was the one day of the year
You didn't mask yourself from me.
I give thanks to that day
Where you and I last spoke.
Autumn is cool,
But winter is cold.
Autumn came.
I can tell by the way
You and I have changed.
