Light Skin is the Right Skin
Light skin is the right skin
That’s what ignorant people say
Is this what society truly thinks?
Such a cliché
How could two shades lighter,
Be better then my face
Only because it’s brighter
Dark is being wrong
I hear it in every song
The thought of people
Who don’t even know me?
Thinking my skin is wrong?
Mad, I feel
Such stupidity is so real
Lighter Skin darker skin
We breathe the same air
So tell me again
How is this fair?
You people sound so ignorant
So ignorant it sickens me
I feel for those who have
The same skin as me
We struggle more than average
Battle more than some
But unite as one
Regardless of what people may think
Dark skin is my skin right in my eyes
So I’ll always love me
Don’t looks so surprised
