There Stood Me
No hope found,
No hope seen,
Against all odds,
There stood me.
When it was all over,
When everyone quit,
There stood me,
Determined to win.
When the lights blacked out,
When all others fell,
There stood me,
Holding on to the rail.
They said I couldn’t,
So many disbelieved,
I guess none of them saw
The drive inside me.
When the rivers dried up,
When the fires warmth finally died,
There stood me,
Without a tear in my pride.
