Blank Confusion
I don’t quite understand
How, or why,
But radiating towards me
Like heat from a furnace
Came a breeze of the
Highest temperature
The scent of daises
In a grass-covered field
I felt the red of my
Shaking breath
Creep across my chest
Wrapping around my neck
Like a python
Dancing between dream worlds
Tell me:
Since when has such
An overwhelming beam
Of sunlight
Wrapped me up
In an embrace
So foreign, to where
I’m rendered breathless—
My lungs battling each other
For the last taste;
The last inhalation
Of the air you seem to
Have sweetened to taste,
Like I see you
Delicately act upon
Your coffee that
You like
Oversweetened
I wish I could understand
Cold feet and the
Loss of breath
Because
If I could
Grasp you in my palms
Study you like a globe
And try to understand how such a
Small sense of
Acceptance can
Bring me back home to you
once again
maybe
for once
I could see myself in your eyes
