The Room
White:
White walls, white sheets, white machines
Steril
The sharp stench of Clorox, of bleach
Noise
Endless beeping, the scuffling of feet, low murmurs from behind the curtains

And her:
Weak, pale, small
Her hands, so frail and sticky with sweat
Her hair, cascading down her shoulders
Her face, a sickly yellow, twisted in pain
The beeping stops, her face relaxes
I walk away from the white, the sterol, the noise and her


The author's comments:
My mom was in the hospital for a very long time and when i went to go visit her the hospital just seemed the same day after day so finally i decide to right about it. It wasn't supposed to be a poem but one thing lead to another and it became this poem.
