Okay.
I know you said it was okay.
Okay…okay…until suddenly
All you see is sleep in the corners of your eyes
And you can’t wake up.
You can’t wake up from the dreams.
You can’t wake up from any of it.
“Sleep silently, sweetheart,” you mumble.
But even sleeping silently says to
Scream.
I know it sounds so simple…so sweet
(to the touch)
But even in your dreamweaving galaxies
You can’t help but deny and try to lie
Between the cracks in the pavement.
Dreams and fears and leaves all falling
From the trees…and you?
All you are is one last kiss—
One last breakdown-beauty.
