Just around the corner
Around the corner
there was a sound
loud and proud
around the corner
To my surprise I did not see
a single man who heard,
but I did, and I needed to know,
"who could it be?"
Just around the corner
my heart called again
beating on every bone in my body
ecstatic to know the maker
of such a neat sound
I reached around the corner
only to find an empty road
no one to be seen or heard
"tricked myself, did I?"
I reached my abode
and was happy too,
for I had just earlier
rented a horror flick
When twilight fell
the room went dark
the tv came on
and the screams began
Just before the climax a sound came
just around the corner
"how could this be? who's there?"
again the sound
The sound was no longer neat and nice
it had a malicious tone to it
an evil sound
that seemed to pass through bone
"I won't ask again who's there?"
no sound came now
just the tv
too many movies I thought
Just as I had begun to relax and forget
I saw a dark shadow move swiftly
just around the corner
and then
The song...
The noise was at a stronger pace
more unpleasant than ever before
and then I saw it
long and dark covered in a ghastly substance
I woke up two month later in the hospital
scars from the stiches all over my body
unable to see or hear from gouged eyes and ears
the creatures sight and song
Engraved in my brain
That awful song never to leave...
