Stag Hunting
My breath fades into the icy grip of winter
as I stalk through a frozen wasteland.
Wind howls through thin trees and bite at my cheeks,
to which their only response is to blush.
Off past a field of iridescent white
a lamp falls over,
I come to.
Groggy, as I cock my head about,
I catch a blurry glance of a majestic stag,
muscles rippling in the early morning glow.
Hooves clopping as it struggles with
pants.
I swear it smiles,
tenderly, with warmth.
Trotting away, the hunter is
hunted.
