Alone I went
Yesterday, I went
I went and never looked back
in the woods I spent
a night so black
That day, I left
of company, I, bereft
seeking what I sought
thinking what I thought
And lo, that day, I alone
lonely, unknown
left never to come back,
and, still stood at a plaque
that to me whispered
a sorrow and a song
the sorrow was heard,
the song unsung
And that night, I left,
ran through the cleft
and never looked behind
afraid of what I'd find
And alone, I was
caught in a gauze
of my own design
begging, begging to resign
And that night I went
in hopeless wander
looking at a sky, spent
I was lone, truly alone
