Waiting
She sat waiting,
waiting for something that would never come.
She knew it wouldn't but yet still, she waited.
She drew in every breath as if it were her last; savoring it, breathing slowly and evenly.
She was silent as she stared out into the distance; seeing nothing but seeing everything. Hearing nothing but hearing everything.
She was lost, somewhere in a world where no one could ever find her because no matter how many people stopped to stare at her, it was as if she were not there.
She paid the onlookers no mind for she was lost.
Even though she was waiting, it would never come.
It would never come until she stopped waiting.
