Count myself fortunate
once I held fire in my bare hands
twice I was held in turn by those who sought
my own inner fire
three times I broke free of chains
which were made of silk
and woven by demi-angels
four times I broke my promise
and five time I made a vow
six times I walked to the very edge of what is known
and seven times I stepped off the rim
eight times I was caught
but nine I was permitted to fall in perfect bliss
once I was bound to this earth
twice I contrived my freedom
twice I ran until the Earth could no longer hold me
once I dared to hope
