The Threshold
Concrete and breezeblocks create new landscape,
teetering mountains of synthesized stone.
Glass siding sheets of ice, reflecting thin rays
of distant sunlight.
Below, lines of ants breathe their poisonous toxins into the air,
as they make their way through the towering stems of steel grass.
Breaking through the low lying coal infused clouds,
Acidic rain pelts the sea of polyester plastic umbrella tops
swimming on the ocean of black tar.
In the hidden labyrinth of alleyways, a layer of aerosol fungi
spreads, insidious, slowly nestling its amongst
piles of garbage and scavenging wildlife.
The living fester in this new jungle urbanism created,
to replace the ones the world long since lost.
Let you no longer live in a world of dystopian nirvana,
instead, uproot the pillars of society,
inspire others to expose, destroy, rebuild,
and shape the world into
a perfect mold, a green paradise.
