The View From My Window
I look out my window and se the woods.
And I think
I could run away.
I would live among the squirrels,
Make my home in a hollowed-out tree,
Bathe in a cod spring nearby.
If I could escape into the woods,
I would sleep under the stars
And befriend the falcons in the nest on my roof.
But instead,
I watch from my window in a metal monstrosity
As I go by.
