Missing Today

The coffee cup of us

lays tipped over in the sink.

Carmel still stuck to the bottom,

and my party pink lips still staining the side.

Two sets of fingerprints found on its handle.

Reminiscence of you and I.

But just as the warm frothy drink grew cold

so did our love.

And with the foam all gone

we went our separate ways.

This poem is about the relationships I see around me that seem so sweet and warm, until the fluffy cover is removed and the "love" dies away.
