Only inches
separate you and I.
Keeping my heavy heart-beats silent
and my breaths calm.
Only centimeters
separate our hands.
Only seconds pass
but I already feel the burn of my cheeks
and the curve of my smile.
Only minutes left
until you depart into the shattered halls.
Will you think of me until tomorrow ?
Only fear
keeps a distance between us
when only inches separate
you and I
If only “onlys” would
disappear.
