Sometimes I think I’m a poet
The dictionary defines this term as
“Someone who writes poetry,”
but I think it’s so much more than that
A poet is someone who looks at the world
through their eyes
and writes what they see down
because not everybody else looks through the same spectrum
Other times I’m just someone who mangles words
I cannot manage to bring what I see justice,
so I squeeze beauty out of words
until they are limp in my hands
No matter how I put them to use,
there will never be a moment
when I don’t try to describe what I see
with wonderful words
