Disguised Misery
I am alone, it seems.
Taking turns talking about broken dreams
With strangers whose names are all
I know
They're all heartless and deceptive
Just like the rest of the world.
Me and him escape one night,
To a place illuminated by only moonbeams
And for the first time,
I understand what it truly means
To listen.
We're sharing a cigarette now,
And I'm happy,
Unable to remember when
I last felt that way.
But, just like that stoge,
It's only temporary bliss,
That'll end in ashes.
