My Name
As the Mississippi wind blows through my hair, I look to the left. Glistening green grass and breathtaking buildings border the city—and the cute boy next to me clenches my hand. This will be an adventure. The time of my life. They say high school has to be the best time of anyone’s life—but I say college will be better.
It’s our first day at Ole Miss. Unfamiliar faces surround us. I have no clue who they are. I’m fifteen hours from wintery Wisconsin, scared and lost—but hey, I did it. And that cute boy next to me—the love of my life—embarks on this journey with me.
He says, “Brittany isn’t it beautiful here?”
We always wanted it. Me with him, him with me—experiencing our lives, together.
I say, “This place is divine.”
The day ends. We return to our dorms, and say goodnight. College: the adventure of our life. Who knows where it’ll take us.
My journey begins now—the move…the boy…the life.
And then the Mississippi wind blows through my hair—and he clenches my hand. I know we are going to be successful.
