a memory of him and july

July heat
Hot sun and cold lemonade
The sparkle of water dripping from bodies
And him

Him.
Muscular, tanned.
Dark haired and stormy eyed.

Our walks on the beach
hand in hand
and the splendor of dawn.
The static of our bodies.

Together.
Like heat and summertime.
Like July and sunshine.

But the cold came.
Storms raged
and we fell apart.
Separated by the fury of our changing minds

Now every morning I wake,
Greeted by my frozen window
and remember, like a faded dream,
that hot July.

I really like this and it's different from a lot of topics. I would elaborate a little bit more and give even more of the story. Make the reader have a little more emotion invested into the poem. Also, I'm not entirely sure why, but I think that if you could have brought the beach back somewhere into the last two stanzas it would have been even better. Really really good job overall.

i really loved this! I think it deserves to be published in the Teenink magazine.  I enjoyed the tone, emotions, and adjectives running throughout your poem.

It has a very nice tone to it, as if it is being displayed as a memory into the eyes of the person only to have the eyes fill with tears and wash it away. I think you could have drawn it out a bit more and make the reader feel even more empathy towards the character, but other than that it was nicely built. Also I will be keeping an eye out for your stories, I like your writing. Keep up the good work.

Impossible is not a word, it's just a reason for someone not to try.

This is a really good poem. Its not like those ones that are pretty much based solely on rhyme... this has feeling and I dont know how to describe it but there is something in it that makes it flow. 5 stars.
