I Want To Be Beautiful Again
I want to be beautiful again.
the innocent
the fragile
the untouched,
swaddled in a blanket
new to the world once more.
Maybe I can do it right this time.
I want to be beautiful again.
the true kind
the happy kind
the unmasked kind,
that doesn’t have to show skin to be noticed.
Maybe I can fight off the monsters.
I want to be beautiful again.
the smart
the proud
the freshness,
that hasn’t been eaten away by hungry souls.
Maybe I can find the light.
I want to be beautiful again.
the role model
the perseverance
the strength,
that will keep me alive.
I need to move forward.
I yearn to be beautiful again.
to not be taken advantage of
to not belittle myself
to not be in pain
to not be vulnerable
to not be,
who I was.
