How to Break a Strong Person: For Dummies
Did you take offence,
when I told you that if a mountain
were to grow itself atop your shoulders,
You would break?
Did you think your blown-glass bones
wouldn't shake?
Wouldn't shatter?
Wouldn't steal or take,
the last breath from your parchment lungs?
You rebel, did you shout back?
At me.
When I told you not to cry in the shower,
because your moth-wing skin would surely plaster
to the tile walls.
In a sticky, salty mess.
Did you think that tears were harmless?
Wouldn't stress,
your sugar-spun heart.
