Maybe It's Time-
It’s been about a month since we (you) said we weren’t cut out to date each other
and I said you’re right (you’re wrong)
but I did nothing and let my stomach twist in knots
for centuries
So for a month I’ve planned exactly what I am going to say
to get you back here it goes
The first time we kissed I melted out of my body
And watched you kiss me from the other side of the room
And wondered what on earth you must have been thinking
And so it began
I liked how you learned an entire song on the-
I liked that whenever I see your face I have to look back
And look at you again and look back at you again
And look-
I remember being at that party when we were still together
And you were on the opposite side of the house
I felt compelled to get out of my seat with my friends and go be near you
Just so I could spin in your own gravitational pull
But eventually whatever we were (weren’t)
Turned into lust and you turned into dust I turned into-
When we (you) ended things
I talked to other guys
I kissed a few and none of them tasted like they should-
Like you would
None of their arms felt like yours
None of them made me laugh until I cried
With you
I cried
Let me say-
I agree we aren’t cut out to date but in theory who is really cut out for
Anything we are nothing like each other but something about you makes me weak
And reminds me of a stronger me at the same time oh you-
Are hilarious and loving and you emanate something addictive
And I think if we took another whack at this crazy thing
It might end up differently
I mean if you squint and look at life upside down
We really don’t have much to lose
