Nightmares
The chemicals in
My sleep are
Brutally painful
The knife slides
Again and again
My mind is tied
Down and I
Cannot wake up
I cannot escape
The sharpness
Of the rusty knife
And it's merciless
Hunger
It feeds on my terror
I'm drowning
On the night
Desperate to open my
Eyes yet
The chains are
Still tight on me
The nightmare
Roars and growls
It calls my name
Like claws on
A chalk board.
