There isn't any beauty without any strangeness

My homeland

In the island
that grows my happiness

nurtures my love
expands my kindness.
My homeland
seems just so far away
the weeks i left

I was naive.
My family in the homeland,

my friends i left,

In my homeland

such a beauty

its a pity
a land of many people
black,yellow,and green
the colors of the bravery.
My homeland,
so far away from me

it shows my beauty

that I cant see.
But my homeland is just
so far away,
I hope to see it

another

day.

This poem is about my beloved country Jamaica..And about how much I miss it.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Love the figurative language and emotion behind this piece. I have to say I don't like the way the poem is broken up into stanzas though. Also, "I was naive" feels a bit out of place. Other than that this is really sweet and deep.
