Friends From Far Away
Never able to see them face to face,
I've made plans to visit just in case.
Not having the time or the money,
To some people the idea may seem funny.
I'm holding on real tight,
Each day and every night.
Speaking through text, pictures, and flat screens,
Makes it difficult to live in the time in between.
Unable to give them a hug,
Or offer some tea in a mug.
I want to hear their laughs and see their smiles.
If it meant that I could meet them, I would walk the many miles.
